11-year-old child

We incurred the expenses for the hospitalization and cure of a 11-year-old child with a chronic condition that damages a portion of the left lung. He had already been treated with antibiotics without a complete solution nor diagnosis.
The child arrived at the Burlo Garofolo hospital for a diagnostic and therapeutic analysis: the medicals highlighted a pulmonary malformation (Intrapulmonary Shunt) to be cured with surgery.
It was a portion characterized by the complete absence of pulmonary functionality (ventilation is zero), which needed to be removed as it was infected. The child underwent complex surgery early in February.
Post-operative progress was complicated and required another operation in order to locate and close an anomalous pleuropulmonary connection to allow the complete recovery of the remaining portion of the left lung.
